Our Mission

Imperfect people passionately sharing the gospel to see His church growing in Jesus.

It is the vision of Fruit Hill Baptist Church to show people Jesus through our living example, through the teaching & preaching of His Word; to equip them to be able to grow in Jesus through the lens of the Bible.

Our Vision

Pastor

Timothy L. Morgan

On behalf of the family who gather under the name “Fruit Hill” allow me to welcome you & invite you to join us! I can say with reasonable certainty that whatever your preconceived notions of “church” are, Fruit Hill will be different. We are a peculiar people of many different backgrounds (labels) all striving to follow Jesus and make our relationship with Him closer.

As for me, I’ve been in pastoral ministry since 2012, before that I’ve been a youth leader, Sunday School teacher, deacon, church custodian and missions leader. I am married to the absolute love of my life who has graciously allowed me to live my boyhood dream of playing Army while she has maintained the home front. We have 3 grown children and 1 still at home, Chloe who is 14. Audrey & I enjoy camping and motorcycle riding and we both love to read. She’s quiet & reserved and I am not.

What To Expect

The church questions. . . . obviously “Baptist” is in the name, I think we’d all do better to identify as followers of Christ because nowhere is denomination in the Bible. (I looked) If you want to know my ministry philosophy on that read what Paul write in 1 Corinthians 9.

What can you expect for a normal Sunday morning, stop thinking in terms of normal. We do stay fairly close on time unless the Holy Spirit leads us long, but don’t think I’m going to keep you till “whenever”, I value you & your time.

The music, it’s different, our minister of music is also in the Army, and he or I or both might be deployed. He might sing with his guitar or we might use some YouTube, it might be traditional hymns, contemporary or bluegrass or southern gospel.

Bible translation, well, here’s my view, I want you to use the translation that you desire to read, and study and that will be applicable in your life (that’s the short answer) if you want to follow along with me, I’ll 94.7% be using the English Standard Version (ESV).

What should you wear? Clothes. You’ll see everything from shorts to jeans, to khaki’s. I will usually be in khaki’s and a button up shirt or polo but I might be in jeans or a suit too.

Will you be sitting in someone’s seat when you visit? Yes, it’s YOUR seat! God prepared it for you.

What is the make up of folks? Well, We have 20 or so military families, 4 law enforcement families and 32 or so “legacy” families. On a given Sunday we’ll have between 70 and 100 folks in attendance.
